Paysafe is seeking an experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead our Data Platform team in Sofia. This pivotal role involves directing a team of talented engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of our cutting-edge data infrastructure. The successful candidate will spearhead our data platform strategy, leveraging advanced technologies such as Snowflake and AWS to foster efficient data processing, analytics, and insights generation. What to expect:
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and platform specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Define and implement the technical roadmap for our data platform, ensuring alignment with our business goals and adherence to industry best practices.
- Architect scalable, reliable, and high-performance data solutions using Snowflake, AWS, Azure, and Oracle.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather data requirements and transform them into actionable technical strategies.
- Utilize Snow pipe for automated, efficient, and continuous data ingestion into Snowflake, enabling real-time data analysis and decision-making.
- Leverage Snowpark to build and execute scalable data pipelines and machine learning models directly within Snowflake, enhancing data processing capabilities and supporting advanced analytics applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient and reliable ETL processes within Snowflake, ensuring optimal data loading and transformation to support analytical and operational reporting needs.
- Implement best practices for Snowflake ETL development, including streamlining data ingestion pipelines, automating data flows, and optimizing data storage and retrieval.
- Manage the deployment and operation of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data lakes, ensuring their reliability and efficiency.
- Develop and enforce robust data governance, security protocols, and compliance standards across the data platform.
- Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance, reliability, and efficiency of our data infrastructure.
- Stay abreast of the latest in data engineering technologies, trends, and best practices, integrating innovative solutions into our data ecosystem.
- Implement and manage real-time data integration and replication processes using Oracle Goldengate, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and seamless data synchronization across diverse environments.
- Utilize Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) for designing and implementing efficient data integration processes, leveraging its E-LT capabilities to enhance data transformation and load performance across heterogeneous systems.
To be successful you need to have:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Extensive experience in a leadership role within data engineering, with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams.
- Deep expertise in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-based data services.
- Strong proficiency in Data Warehousing such as data modeling, optimization, and administration
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies (Apache Spark, Hadoop).
- Proven experience with Data Integration, Ingestion and Orchestration tools like AWS Glue, DBT, Azure Data Factory, AirFlow. Expertise on Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) will be considered plus.
- Solid understanding of software development life cycles, DevOps practices, and CI/CD methodologies.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, capable of engaging effectively with various stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of data streaming technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Flink) and Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes will be considered plus.
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI technologies for data analysis, ETL/ELT pipelines and predictive modeling.
The Senior Manager, Data Engineering, will report to Senior Director and is expected to abide by all internal company regulations and maintain high professional ethics. This role requires a high degree of collaboration with various internal teams and external providers or business partners.
The successful candidate will be expected to lead the data quality, analytics and actionable insights, metrics program throughout the group, proactively engage with stakeholders, and monitor and improve the quality of master and reference data. This role requires a deliverable-focused individual with a hands-on mindset, can-do attitude, and transparency in issue tracking and problem-solving.
