The Manager, Sales Solutions is a leadership role responsible for leading, mentoring, and scaling a team of Pre-Sales Solutions Architects while remaining deeply engaged in complex enterprise sales opportunities. This role partners closely with Revenue Leadership, Sales, Product, and Engineering to ensure consistent, high-quality solution design that aligns customer needs with the company’s strategic and commercial objectives. In addition to hands-on architectural expertise, this role drives team performance, capability development, and operational excellence across the pre-sales function.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Sales Solutions Architects, fostering a high-performance, customer-centric culture.
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and success metrics for the team; conduct regular performance reviews and career development planning.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and ramping of new Solution Architects.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex customer engagements and deal-critical technical decisions.

Pre-Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Own and evolve solution architecture frameworks and best practices to support enterprise and strategic sales initiatives.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to align technical strategy with revenue goals, pipeline priorities, and account plans.
  • Provide executive-level pre-sales technical leadership on high-impact, complex, or strategic deals.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality solution designs that meet customer business needs, technical requirements, and compliance standards.

Customer & Executive Engagement

  • Engage directly with customers to understand business challenges and translate them into scalable, differentiated solutions.
  • Lead or participate in executive briefings, solution workshops, and technical deep dives.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior customer stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a senior technical liaison between Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and partner teams.
  • Influence product roadmap and feature prioritization based on customer feedback, competitive insights, and sales execution plans.
  • Oversee development of solution maturity assessments, business cases, and ROI models in support of sales opportunities.

Operational Excellence & Enablement

  • Standardize pre-sales processes, tools, and documentation to improve efficiency, scalability, and deal velocity.
  • Ensure the team maintains strong knowledge of products, platforms, integrations, and competitive solutions.
  • Partner with Enablement to support ongoing training, certifications, and knowledge-sharing across the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field; experience in lieu of a degree, required.
  • 10+ years of experience in pre-sales, solution architecture, or technical consulting roles, with demonstrated progression in scope and responsibility, required.
  • 3+ years of people management or team leadership experience in a pre-sales or technical environment.
  • Deep knowledge of payments, acquiring, merchant processing, digital assets, or adjacent fintech domains.
  • Strong understanding of competitive solutions and market dynamics.
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering enterprise-scale, expertise-level sales solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and customer-facing skills.

  • Experience supporting global or geographically distributed sales teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical depth and business outcomes.
  • Passion for developing talent and building scalable, repeatable pre-sales capabilities.
