Responsibilities:
- Steers the risk appetite with regard to the company’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), in alignment with the relevant Merchant Risk teams, other Compliance teams and the relevant senior management of the company. Makes sure business line specifics within the merchant portfolio of the company are considered in any AUP updates.
- Leads Compliance and financial crime advisory work in relation to merchants or corporate partners (incl. new and existing business initiatives) with the view to ensure compliance with internal policies and the regulatory landscape. Reports potential issues and proposes risk mitigation measures to management.
- Works closely with the relevant Risk and Compliance team, as well as other key stakeholders like Product and operational teams to ensure implementation of the Compliance framework and requirements. Works on cases where new products or payment flows are created, as it is ensured that Financial Crime Risk Assessment team is provided with the relevant framework.
- Represents Compliance in projects related to merchants or corporate partners, including new and existing business models, products and/or solutions.
- Contact point for all teams on a group level for merchant compliance topics. Escalation point for the out of policy complex compliance business cases that require assessment and resolution. Escalates to management when necessary and proposes solutions from Compliance standpoint.
- Closely collaborates with the other Risk and Compliance functions to ensure consistency in approach.
- Upon request develops training materials related to Merchant compliance and delivers training to new and existing team members globally.
- Identifies areas for process improvement and drives initiatives to improve processes or implement system solutions related to merchant compliance and financial crime framework.
To be successful you need to have:
- Educational requirements for the position: secondary education
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience in compliance and/or the international financial services industry
- Understanding and expert knowledge of the applicable legal framework for prevention of money laundering and the financing of terrorism, as well as other regulatory issues concerning various types of regulated financial services businesses
- Experience in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures is preferable
- Experience and understanding of merchant due diligence
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Open-mind and eagerness to challenge the status quo and to deliver top results in close collaboration with the team
- Readiness to work in an international environment with the willingness to travel from time to time
- Computer literacy and business tools knowledge
- Fluency in English
