Is there a more exciting role in Privacy today?
Fintech + Data Protection + International = challenging and exciting!
You will act as a junior Privacy SME in a ‘second-line of defence’ function, covering Data Protection / Privacy laws including the GDPR, PIPEDA and CCPA (as amended by CPRA) and LATAM requirements. Your work will be reviewed by members of the Privacy team by way of mentoring and knowledge sharing. We actively problem-solve as a team, so if you prefer to work alone without input from others, this is not the team for you. However, if you are interested in being mentored to gain specific knowledge of data protection and privacy from a team with many years’ experience (several have been working in Privacy and data protection for over 20 years), this is the role for you. As well as privacy, you will be expected to develop your knowledge of regulated financial services globally and successfully undertake certification in Privacy laws delivered by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
What to Expect:
- All aspects of global privacy laws and regulations including data protection, retention, security, and data breach reporting requirements
- Providing results-driven privacy support to all business units and functions within the Paysafe
- Assisting with the continued development and improvement of the Paysafe Privacy Programme e.g. use of assurance tools, 3rd party vendor management, Privacy by Design, Privacy Impact Assessments, employee training and promoting the privacy ethos across the Group, etc.
- Implementing the ‘Global Privacy Policy’ and accompanying ‘Standards’ globally across all Group companies and employees
- Monitoring and undertaking assurance of compliance with the Privacy Standards, policies and procedures and liaising with Internal Audit
- Carrying out Privacy / Data Protection Impact Assessments
- Investigation and management of potential data breaches and privacy incidents
- Advising on cross border data transfers
- Providing pragmatic and risk-based advice on marketing initiatives, particularly electronic marketing
- Ensuring that Data Protection requirements are in place in Systems processing personal data
- Monitoring, annually reviewing and amending as appropriate the global DP registrations and notification(s)
- Ensuring formal compliance reporting to the Chief and Deputy Chief Privacy Officer
- Providing advice on projects and to act as a key point of contact on Privacy issues
- Reviewing and advising on Data Protection contractual terms and notices
To be successful you need to have:
- At least 1 year of relevant experience including assisting senior legal or privacy professionals
- Degree in Law is a must
- IAPP certifications such as CIPP/E; CIPM, etc. is preferred but not mandatory
- Post Graduate certification in one or more of data protection/privacy, legal, compliance, information technology, risk management, ISO certifications will have an added advantage
- Understanding of information and communications technology and related operations

Experiеnce in Payments industry or/and working in a commercial environment is highly desirable

Knowledge of international Privacy laws is a desirable asset for this role
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of privacy matters in a regulated industry
- Ability to collaborate and build strong stakeholder relationships
- Excellent communication skills, able to simplify the complicated so it can be used by others
- Strong Microsoft Office and IT skills

Use of OneTrust privacy tooling is preferred
- Organisational skills – able to run multiple initiatives in parallel with competing deadlines
- Ability to carry out research and quickly digest new and emerging Privacy/ Data Protection requirements

Experience working with other functions such as IT, Compliance, Risk, etc. will be advantageous for this role
