Application Security Engineer

What to expect:

• Maintain and integrate security scanning tools across the company’s SDLC to ensure consistent vulnerability detection and continuous validation of application security
• Configure and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate security scans, enforce code quality gates, and enable early identification of vulnerabilities during the development lifecycle
• Respond to requests related to SDLC security tooling and act as a support contact for issue resolution
• Coordinate with researchers and in-house developers on our bug bounty program to analyse rank and remediate exposed vulnerabilities
• Work with external pen testers to continually improve security on the platform
• Maintain application security metrics and reporting to track program effectiveness and demonstrate risk reduction
• Manage and coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts with development teams
• Propose, evaluate and build innovative new security features to benefit our organization
• Assist with security incident response as needed
• Develop technical documentation, including functional specifications, system design specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as necessary

To be successful you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related technical field is a plus
• 2 years of experience in software development or technical InfoSec roles
• Relevant certifications such as GWAPT, OSWA, or similar are a plus
• Understanding of the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and how security integrates into each phase
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools for building automated security testing workflows
• Familiarity with security tools such as SAST, SCA, and DAST
• Solid understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and their impact on modern web applications
• Basic web application penetration testing skills
• Working knowledge of Linux systems, including command-line proficiency and scripting for automation
• Interest in automation and scripting, with hands-on experience in Python, Bash, or similar languages
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Self-driven with a focus on learning and delivering strong results
