What will you do:
- Carrying out risk-based periodic reviews of existing business clients and partners (e.g. checking merchant’s transactions, ownership structure, business model, web page, financial statements, risk exposure, etc.) in accordance with external and internal policies relating to anti-money-laundering regulations and the financing of terrorism acts.
- Conducting Fforensic analysis of patterns and risks originating from transaction monitoring.
- Documentation of suspicious activities, as well as extensive research into suspicious activities in cooperation with internal and external partners, to define required actions.
- Evaluation of new anti-money laundering measures in the existing merchant portfolios and assessment of their effectiveness.
- Pro-actively assisting in the development of existing internal systems, processes, and guidelines.
- Partner with the wider Risk function and Commercial business units on merchant risk related issues.
- Follow the Credit Risk Policy, escalate and report high risk profile merchant cases as per procedure. to Risk Management
- Daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reporting for external and internal stakeholders.
- Communication with merchants, financial institutions and authorities.
- Generation of different reports and analysis.
- Participate in developing and testing of new tools and improvements to the existing products.
- Investigation of cases reported by external parties including but not limited to banks, merchants, acquirers, payment partners.
- Research and understand changes in regulation.
- Understand Consumer concerns and problems, involve other departments to resolve them to increase Consumer satisfaction.
- Understand product specific AML and fraud risks and provide expertise for appropriate automated or manual solutions to mitigate those risks.
- Identify and report potential weaknesses in processes.
- Deliver accurate administration and follow the high standards of the company in regards to quality and timeliness of responses.
To be successful you need to have:
- Bachelor's degree desirable/Financial or Law degree preferred
- Merchant Monitoring Experience is a must
- Good understanding of AML/CTF requirements and financial crime risks associated with the range of services in financial services
- Relevant Credit Risk/AML/Compliance experience, preferably in a Financial Institution
- Ability to work independently and to liaise with other departments
- Strong decision-making capabilities
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to manage processes efficiently, with accuracy and attention to detail
- A recognized AML/Compliance qualification will be considered as an advantage
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal
- Team player adaptable to fast-paced and changing environment
- Good planning, time management and prioritization skills
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft office, especially Excel
- Fluency in Spanish will be considered an advantage
