Role Summary:

The Compliance Manager – Brazil is responsible for supporting the development and execution of the compliance program under the Brazilian license, ensuring alignment with local regulatory requirements and the company’s global compliance standards. This role is key to ensuring regulatory adherence while enabling business growth and operational efficiency.

The Compliance Manager will support regulatory engagement, help implement compliance policies and procedures, and ensure that day-to-day operations reflect strong compliance practices. This includes performing risk assessments, coordinating internal reviews, supporting regulatory examinations, and working closely with regional stakeholders to ensure the compliance program is effective, risk-based, and business-aligned.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regional Compliance Execution

  • Support the execution of the compliance program for Brazil and other markets under the Brazilian license.
  • Assist in maintaining effective relationships with local regulators, including supporting the preparation of regulatory submissions and inspections.
  • Coordinate the implementation of compliance policies, procedures, and controls in line with local regulations and global compliance frameworks.
  • Conduct or support compliance risk assessments and monitoring activities.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and support internal and external audits or reviews.

2. Business Advisory & Operational Support

  • Partner with internal stakeholders (legal, product, operations, and business teams) to provide compliance input on new initiatives and product changes.
  • Support the review of marketing materials, product launches, and customer journeys for compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Ensure compliance processes are practical, risk-sensitive, and support operational scalability.

 

 

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • Solid experience in regulatory compliance within the financial services, payments, or fintech sectors.
  • Working knowledge of Brazil’s regulatory environment, including relationships with local regulatory bodies such as the Central Bank of Brazil.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements in a practical and business-friendly manner.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or financial crime roles, preferably in a regulated financial institution or fintech company.
  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections, implementing compliance programs, or conducting compliance reviews is preferred.
  • Fluent in Portuguese; proficiency in English is required.
