New Business Development Director
Position Summary
The New Business Development Director is responsible for identifying, acquiring, and onboarding new Registered Independent Sales Organizations (ISOs), Unregistered Independent Agents, and Referral Partners. This role drives sales growth, profitability, and partner recruitment objectives. Newly engaged partners will secure merchant account opportunities in alignment with acquiring bank relationship guidelines. The Director represents the full portfolio of company products and services to new partners, while potentially specializing in specific solutions or product sets tailored to vertical markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new opportunities with ISOs, Agents, and Referral Partners.
- Achieve or exceed assigned targets for profitable net revenue and strategic objectives within new partner accounts.
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with key stakeholders in assigned ISO and Agent accounts.
- Coordinate internal resources—including onboarding, support, service, and management—to ensure successful partner onboarding and alignment with expectations.
- Proactively assess, clarify, and validate partner needs, ensuring the organization can deliver on those requirements.
- Promote and drive adoption of company programs and products among new ISOs, Agents, and Referral Partners.
- Lead strategic planning with partners to maximize mutual revenue opportunities in new relationships.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date Salesforce lead database, including timely reporting.
- Provide support to Partner Support teams and other internal stakeholders as needed to sustain strong, long-term partnerships.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Economics, or Communication, or equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree, required.
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant sales experience, required.
- Strong problem-solving skills, applying professional concepts and company policies to address diverse challenges.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment within established procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions.
- Skilled in engaging with customer executives and product administrators.
- Represents the company at industry events, including trade shows, trade groups, and public speaking engagements (with corporate approval).
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
- Ability to navigate internal processes to ensure a seamless client experience while optimizing revenue.
- Proficient in coordinating complex legal agreements between partners and internal legal teams.
- Capable of developing revenue models for new partnerships and collaborating with Finance for necessary approvals.
