Summary
Paysafe is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Business Development Director to lead our strategic initiatives with our “Smart Venue” Solution. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships with Universities, Sports Teams and/or Entertainment venues in North America with a proven track record of aligning with business growth initiatives and forming strategic partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Identify and Pursue Opportunities: Identify new business opportunities with the “Smart Venue” solution and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
- Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain relationships with key vertical and industry stakeholders, including universities, sports teams and entertainment venues/merchants in North America
- Presents the value and vision of Paysafe to venue stakeholders and decision makers (payments, finance, marketing, product, etc.), instilling confidence and gaining buy-in and commitment, while navigating complex discussions to sign agreements with venues/merchants.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, competitive landscape as well as inform solution roadmap
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to align business development strategies and ensure cohesive execution.
- Deal Negotiation: Negotiate and close partnership deals with potential clients and partners.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze the performance of business development initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.
- Representation: Represent the company at industry events and conferences to promote our brand and expand our network.
- Compliance: Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure all partnerships adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Update the CRM system to track leads and identify solid business opportunities.
- Attend industry events and networking conferences.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Business Administration, Finance, or related field; or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree, required.
- 8+ years experience in consultative/strategic sales “hunter role”, required; experience within merchant payments, eCommerce, or fintech/financial services industry, preferred.
- 3+ years proven experience in omnichannel sales and/or wallet sales to medium size and enterprise merchants and payment industry customers, required.
- Experience in obtaining meetings with key decision-makers (C-level) within sport, and entertainment venues as well as universities. Ability to effectively communicate strategy and vision. Demonstrated success in cultivating and managing relationships with merchant/seller and/or financial services clients.
- Proven history of quota achievement and demonstrated success selling in new, fast changing, and high growth markets.
- Strong consultative, conceptual and strategic selling and negotiating skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent active listening skills.
- Will need to have the ability to strategically select potential clients, focussing on maintaining multiple sourcing alternatives to ensure a continuous pipeline of potential prospects for new business and revenue opportunities.
