We’re looking for a temporary full-time Senior Payroll and Benefits Advisor to join our Human Resources team in London. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering a seamless, end-to-end payroll process for our London and Dublin locations, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and compliance. This position calls for strong analytical skills, an in-depth understanding of payroll principles, and exceptional attention to detail and communication abilities.

How we work:

 

We follow a hybrid working model, spending an average of three days per week at our office location. The office is located in Gresham Street next to St Paul’s cathedral with easy access and transport links via St Paul’s, Bank, Cannon Street, City Thameslink, Liverpool Street, Farringdon, Mansion House.

 

The impact you will have:

 

  • Administering all monthly payroll duties e.g. changes to salary, commission, bonuses, processing deductions and checking the payroll for UK and Ireland, ensuring all payroll deadlines are adhered to.
  • Processing of payroll administration including, but not limited to, starters, leavers, changes, benefits, shares, commissions etc.
  • Administration of pension reporting for 6 UK and 2 Irish payroll entities. Working closely with the payroll providers in all countries to ensure reporting required as needed for Finance team.
  • Ensuring the payrolling of benefits is adhered to & preparing P11d data for 23/24, meeting the deadlines set by the HMRC.
  • Ensuring SOX Compliance requirements are strictly adhered to.
  • Working with and building good working relationships with internal stakeholders e.g Reward team for share payments, Treasury for payment funds, Finance for commissions.
  • Collaborate with relevant authorities (e.g HMRC) for audits or information requests, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and tax laws.
  • Ensuring all payroll queries from internal stake holders are appropriately resolved and settling any issues. Address employee inquiries and resolve issues regarding salaries and payments.
  • Maintaining excellent relationship with 3rd party suppliers including liaison with external tax support providers.
  • Providing reports and ad-hoc support as required for internal or external clients (e.g. HMRC, Vialto, RSM etc).

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • Significant experience of administering payroll within a medium sized organization handling complex payroll queries; experience of SOX highly desired.
  • Experience of liaising and partnering with external auditors.
  • Good knowledge of the legal aspects of payroll and pensions: PAYE; National Insurance calculations; SSP; SMP and other regulations both in the UK and Ireland.
  • Experience in administering international payrolls.
  • Must be able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and adaptability are essential.
  • Ability to deal with highly confidential subject matter with discretion, integrity and professionalism.
  • A proactive problem-solver with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Quality focused with impeccable attention to detail and accuracy of data.
  • Excellent team worker and collaborator who is self-motivated, highly organized and positive.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and a track record of working effectively across functional departments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and able to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment with multiple project responsibilities.
  • Highly proficient in using the MS Suite of products, particularly Excel.
