We are seeking a Senior Director, Risk Analytics to lead the team responsible for enterprise-wide risk insights, reporting, portfolio analytics and performance monitoring across our payments ecosystem. This leader will develop a robust analytical framework that delivers high-quality actionable insights to enable sustainable growth, to inform strategy, and strengthen controls. This role focuses on driving clarity, transparency, and business alignment through metrics, dashboards, forecasting, deep-dive analytics, and effective cross-functional collaboration.

How we work:

We follow a hybrid working model, spending an average of three days per week at our office location. The office is located in Gresham Street next to St Paul’s cathedral with easy access and transport links via St Paul’s, Bank, Cannon Street, City Thameslink, Liverpool Street, Farringdon, Mansion House.

 

The impact you will have:

  • Produce actionable insights that lead to sustained growth or loss reduction or minimization of friction and influence the internal stakeholders to take the recommended actions.
  • Define the vision, priorities, and roadmap for risk analytics, reporting, and insights across fraud, credit, payments risk and partner/merchant risk.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to the CRO and executive leadership, providing clear, actionable analytics on performance, emerging trends, and risk exposure.
  • Own enterprise-level reporting for key risk indicators (KRIs), loss metrics, portfolio trends and risk ops effectiveness.
  • Develop executive dashboards, business reviews, and board-level materials that distill complex data into clear narratives and recommendations.
  • Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, well-governed, and aligned to regulatory and internal expectations.
  • Lead root-cause analyses of loss events, fraud patterns, credit performance shifts, and operational breakdowns.
  • Drive deep analytical investigations to support risk strategy, new product launches, control enhancements, and partner initiatives.
  • Translate data into strategic recommendations that balance risk and business objectives.
  • Work with Data Engineering and BI teams to enhance data availability, quality and reporting automation.
  • Build, mentor and guide a high-performing risk analytics and reporting team.
  • Promote analytical rigor, operational excellence and a strong risk culture.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • At least 10+ years of experience in risk management or risk analytics, with a strong background in the global payments industry. 5+ years of leadership experience managing analytics teams.
  • Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and team management skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex data insights and risk strategies to non-technical stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on actionable outcomes. Ability to balance risk mitigation with business growth and innovation.
  • Strong proficiency in data analytics and BI tools.
  • Expertise in risk management, fraud detection and financial crime prevention.
  • Familiarity with global payment systems, e-commerce platforms and financial technologies.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, PSD2).
  • Knowledge of emerging risk trends and technologies in financial services.
