An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Group Regulatory Team at Paysafe. We are looking for a mid-level Regulatory Lawyer. Whilst Payments experience is preferred, we will consider applications from candidates with wider Financial Services experience. We are looking for a self-starter; someone who is adaptable, commercially savvy and practical. The Regulatory Team sits within our global Legal Team. You will be reporting into and providing primary support to the VP Regulatory and also interact directly with a number of business stakeholders. You will be based in either our Canary Wharf Office, Dublin or Vienna office working on a 2:2:1 hybrid working model whereby you will be working a minimum of 2 days In the office.

 

Key responsibilities of the role

 

  • Horizon-scanning of domestic, EU and international regulatory developments;
  • Conducting impact assessments and distilling advice to the Group in a timely manner;
  • Conducting multi-jurisdictional reviews of applicable regulation;
  • Legal research;
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues in Divisional Legal Teams to provide guidance and advice on regulatory topics;
  • Building and managing relationships with external counsel;
  • Supporting new product launches and expansion of different Business Units within the Group;
  • Development of regulatory publications and managing communication of the same; and
  • Supporting on strategic projects for the Group. 

 

Essential Requirements

 

  • 5+ years PQE;
  • Experience in the Financial Services sector, preferably Payments;
  • Strong technical legal and analytical skills, a quick mind and the ability to assess and understand the impact of regulation on the business;
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment, often with competing priorities;
  • Strong EQ – skilled at building good relationships and galvanising support throughout the Group;
  • Ability to successfully balance being a team player and working alone;
  • Ability to deal with large amounts of information efficiently and effectively;
  • Display the following traits in day-to-day work: responsible, conscientious, proactive, motivated and focused on continuous professional development;
  • Professional integrity and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters/information; and
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

 

Ideal requirements

 

  • Good understanding of gambling and/or cryptocurrency regulation.
  • Experience of operating in a highly regulated business environment; and
  • International experience (such as experience in one of the European institutions) would be advantageous.
