Summary
Working within our UK and European portfolio, this role will be to conduct the oversight and management of our Payment Facilitators, and other aggregation models such as marketplaces. The role will require end to end responsibility for these clients, including onboarding, monitoring and remediation of any issues. This is a role with significant external exposure as it requires dealing directly with our partners to onboard them and manage their in-life experience.
Responsibilities
- Onboarding of new Payment Facilitators, including reviewing of documentation via an underwriting package, as well as conducting suitability meetings to understand the controls and competency of the key individuals running the business
- Working closely with Sales and partner manager teams to assist in onboarding Payfacs
- Working closely with Scheme compliance department to ensure that Payfacs are registered correctly and operating within the rules
- Ensuring that Payfacs submerchants are fit and proper through vetting underwriting files, both at the beginning of the relationship and periodically throughout the lifecycle
- Managing any card scheme compliance issues in conjunction with the Risk team and the Scheme compliance team
- Acting as a subject matter expert on Payfacs and associated scheme rules
- Making recommendations to senior management where appropriate on the suitability of new and existing Payfacs
- Ownership of the Payfacs Policy and any required processes needed to manage the risk of aggregation models
- Assisting the Payfacs with any subject matter expertise
- Leveraging MMSP tools, to conduct spot checks on Payfacs submerchant activities
- Advising Payfacs of specific requirements for high-risk business types
Requirements
- 3-5 years of card processing experience within Risk
- Understanding of Card Scheme rules around aggregation models
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to escalate any potential issues
- Ability to manage own time, and competing priorities
- Ability to conduct oneself professionally with external partners
- Experience with High-Risk merchant verticals
- Ability to make judgements on the suitability of individuals running Payfacs
- Understanding of scheme fraud and chargeback, and general compliance programs
- Occasional but limited travel to support the sales team with engagements
