The Finance Business Partner will act as Accounting subject matter expert on key finance and/or business initiative projects and report to the Accounting Director. This role will work closely with the project managers from various parts of the business and Finance teams, the operational teams, and Group and US Accounting teams in automating monthly journal entries, reports, analyses, financial statements, etc.
The ideal candidate requires strong leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background, analytical skills and proactively work to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible in their approach, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.

How we work:
Our preferred arrangement is for the job holder to follow a hybrid model, spending an average of three days per week at our office location. The office is located in Gresham Street next to St Paul’s cathedral with easy access and transport links via St Paul’s, Bank, Cannon Street, City Thameslink, Liverpool Street, Farringdon, Mansion House.
The impact you will have:
- Participate in strategic financial special projects.
- Compile and analyze data in a meaningful way to assist project documentation of completeness and accuracy; and demonstration of application of accounting standards.
- Focus on continued system efficiencies and improvements and business practices.
- Collaborate with Group, US Accounting, Finance, Financial Operations, Business System Analysts, and Product teams on new and streamline processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures in a SOX environment.
- Coordinate with project managers and other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of all project-related financial transactions.
- Analyze project performance metrics and provide recommendations for financial improvements.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
- Relevant CPA certification preferred.
- Excellent communication skills preferred.
- 3 + years of progressive accounting experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process, automation interaction, process improvements.
- Relevant experience must be in publicly traded companies required.
- Financial services industry experience is a plus.
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Awareness of business trends and familiarity with financial accounting statements required.
- Accuracy and attention to detail Proficient in intermediate to advance Excel (including pivot tables, xlookups, Sumifs), Word and Email required.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working with large ERP and reporting packages, Oracle EBS and Blackline experience is a plus.
- Experience with SQL for data extraction and analysis preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines is required.
