Paysafe is currently searching for a Director, Risk Analytics to join our team.
The Director Risk Analytics role will leverage significant payments experience, as well as top-rate analytical skills, to be responsible for owning the strategy for supporting the Global Risk and Compliance organization with analytics that both monitors performance and proactively identifies opportunities for performance improvement.
He/she will do this by leading the team that is responsible for conceptualizing and developing data-driven risk solutions by applying advanced analytical techniques.
This individual will play a critical role in the Global Risk and Compliance organization as we require our strategies to be based on sound data. The Risk Analytics team will be responsible for both monitoring performance and proactively identifying emerging trends and issues in the merchant and consumer risk profiles and translating those findings into insights that drive action by the wider team.

How we work:
We follow a hybrid working model, spending an average of three days per week at our office location. The office is located in Gresham Street next to St Paul’s cathedral with easy access and transport links via St Paul’s, Bank, Cannon Street, City Thameslink, Liverpool Street, Farringdon, Mansion House.
The impact you will have:
- Develop and own a framework for evaluating the performance of the Risk and Compliance team holistically and using this to drive improved strategies
- Build and implement the strategic plan for implementing this framework in a structured manner that ensures that the biggest gaps are closed first, while identifying and closing new gaps as our focus, strategy and understanding evolves
- Understand, challenge and inform the Risk & Compliance department’s goals and strategies, and support it with provision of data and analysis for decision making
- Collaborate closely with the Data Platform team, as a demanding and informed customer, to ensure that the data used is reliable and meaningful, and with the wider Risk and Compliance team to ensure that the insights are clearly understood and drive required action
- Lead, develop and scale a team of 8-12 high-performing strategy and data analysts to conduct in-depth data analysis and proactively identify emerging trends
- Monitor Key Risk indicators and develop early warning systems to mitigate risks and highlight potential new trends, as well as to identify opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with the data engineering team to enhance the database and suggest any possible automation
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all performance data related to the Risk department (Consumer and Merchant)
- Act as one of the leaders of the wider Risk & Compliance function both within the team and in interactions with other teams across Paysafe
What we’re looking for:
- Deep understanding of the card payments industry in multiple markets, including knowledge of payment processing systems, transaction dynamics, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS and ACH). The successful candidate is likely to have in excess of ten years of experience in order to demonstrate this understanding, and will have led whole areas in Risk strategy
- At least Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science or any other quantitative discipline; Master’s degree preferred
- Proven leadership experience, including managing teams, mentoring data analysts, and driving projects: demonstrated understanding both of analytics and converting this into successful strategies, balancing risk and reward
- Understanding of data modelling and data algorithms
- Understanding of Consumer and Merchant Risk and ability to share this knowledge within the team and across the organization
- Ability to extract insights using SQL to advanced level. You will lead a team with strong SQL skills.
- Demonstrated technical background in visualisation tools such as PowerBI/Tableau/Looker… You will lead a team with strong experience in the field.
- Able to multitask and work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced, and evolving environment.
- Excellent communication abilities and compelling presentation skills.
- Ability to deliver independently, through a team and through leverage of horizontal relationships, inside and outside the company.
- Ability to collaborate constructively with and win trust and respect from stakeholders from a variety of disciplines
- Skilled communicator and presenter with the ability to influence and motivate others
- Problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to analyze complex information to identify the key issues/actions and drive to resolution
- The capability to think through cases and apply sound and timely judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and execute on the highest areas of importance
- Proven ability to successfully drive change across an organization through clarity of message, command of subject matter and effective delivery.
