Paysafe is currently looking for an experienced Underwriting Specialist. As a part of our Risk Management team, your primary responsibilities will be the following: 

 

  • Analyzing business public record database inquiries, collecting collateral, and executing standardized policies to ensure best business practices.
  • Adhering to best practices for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and “Know Your Customer” (KYC) policies.
  • Adjudicating low-risk applications and supporting with high-risk cases, including due-diligence and setting conditions to manage risk exposure.
  • Following established policies to evaluate the risk potential of merchants by fully understanding their business model, credit file, and expense liabilities; tracking all activity and producing summary reports on progress.
  • Liaising with senior staff members and internal departments to present case work to key management regarding specific merchants.
  • Ensuring compliance with governmental, banking, credit card, and other payment regulators and/or association rules.
  • Researching unusual situations and activities internally, such as fraud, chargeback review, authorization review, and application information verification.

 

Qualifications

  • University degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Social Sciences or in an equivalent field of study
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in underwriting, preferably in an online payment processing, e-commerce or banking environment
  • Knowledge in LATAM markets and regulations; US markets knowledge will be considered an advantage
  • Must possess strong organizational, analytical and communication skills as well as great problem solving and time management abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently or in a team
  • Self-motivated, diligent, resourceful, and able to learn internal systems quickly
  • Highly proficiency in MS Office, especially in Excel including prior experience working with advanced formulas and tools used for more complex analysis
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish
