Role Purpose
The Payment Team Manager LATAM oversees the operational execution of daily payments, reconciliation, merchant onboarding, and payment-related processes across the LATAM region. The manager ensures accuracy, compliance, team performance, and business continuity while serving as the main operational escalation point for LATAM Payments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Payments Operations
- Manage and oversee daily payments to Merchants, Shoppers, and Vendors.
- Ensure payments are processed accurately and successfully.
2. Bank Account Reconciliation
- Oversee and perform daily bank reconciliations for accounts under responsibility.
- Manage No Bank processes, coordinating with banking entities for recovery.
3. Monthly Closing Activities
- Prepare SOX‑compliant reconciliation reports.
- Report bank statements, reconciliation worksheets, fees, and transfer‑related expenses in coordination with Accounting.
4. Merchant & Partner Onboarding Support
- Conduct bank transfer tests for newly onboarded merchants or bank account updates.
- Monitor merchant payment frequency and ensure correct operational setup.
5. Support for New Products & Wallets
- Monitor and support Brazil–Skrill Wallet processes, including reconciliation and safeguarding funding.
- Support payout wallet reconciliation and reporting for LATAM partners.
6. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as first point of contact for any payment method issues.
- Participate as stakeholder in Local Payment Methods (LPM) and banks, Crypto initiatives, and daily operational escalations.
- Attend where required senior management meetings with VP/ Act as deputy when required.
- Train new joiners and upskill team members on new products or process changes.
7. Hiring, Coaching & Performance Oversight
- Provide input on hiring decisions, candidate evaluation, and salary benchmarking for LATAM Payments Analyst roles.
- Offer feedback on team language capability and work quality.
8. Budget Alignment & Salary Benchmarking
- Partner with HR (People Partner, Rewards, TA) to ensure market‑aligned salary ranges, recruit approvals, and compensation recommendations.
9. Cross‑functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Sales, Product, Accounting, and Banking Operations on payments‑related topics.
10. Compliance & Audit
- Ensure payment operations follow SOX controls, compliance guidelines, and audit requirements.
