To help us fuel accelerated growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant, Process Improvement.

 

This role is based in our Jacksonville, Florida office and offers a flexible hybrid work environment where you will have a blend of 3 in office days and 2 remote working days during the work week.
 
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant, Process Improvement will act as US Accounting subject matter expert on key finance and/or business initiative projects and report to the Accounting Director. This role will work closely on various projects across multiple parts of the business and Finance teams, the operational teams, and Group (Corporate) and US Accounting teams in automating monthly journal entries, testing BI reports, streamlining processes, testing new processes, data mining, and any other ad hoc request.

 
The ideal candidate requires strong leadership capabilities, solid operational and either finance or accounting background, analytical skills and proactively work to drive results. This person must be a highly detailed self-starter, flexible in their approach, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment. 
 
Your responsibilities would include:

  • Focus on continued system efficiencies and improvements and business practices.
  • Participate and oversee strategic financial and business projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements across finance and accounting functions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all project-related financial transactions.
  • Provide senior management with financial insights, variance analysis, and performance tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, and regulatory requirements. Participate in strategic financial special projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Accounting, Finance, Operations, Product) to streamline processes and implement best practices.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
  • Analyze project performance metrics, prepare detailed financial reports, and provide recommendations for financial improvements.
  • Provide guidance to junior accounting and finance staff.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or project management, required in a publicly traded company.
  • Financial services industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Strong technical skills: advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas), ERP/reporting systems (Oracle, SAP), and data analysis tools (SQL, Power BI) required.
  • In-depth understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights required.
  • Awareness of business trends and familiarity with financial accounting statements required.
