We are seeking a Merchant Pricing Director to lead the development and execution of our pricing strategy, with a primary focus on the U.S. Merchant business. This role is critical in aligning pricing initiatives with Paysafe’s financial objectives, while taking into account market dynamics, competitive trends, and our customer value proposition.

In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and implementing pricing policies, establishing governance frameworks, and managing the strategic pricing roadmap in close collaboration with our Merchant team.

This position is based in Jacksonville, Florida, and follows a hybrid work model—offering a balanced schedule of three in-office days and two remote workdays each week. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute pricing strategies aligned with Paysafe’s financial goals, considering market conditions, competition, and customer value.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand customer behavior, industry trends, and pricing benchmarks.
  • Recommend pricing models tailored to payment methods, transaction volumes, risk profiles, and customer segments.
  • Optimize pricing execution across the customer lifecycle—from offer to billing and collections.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure pricing effectiveness and impact on profitability.
  • Identify and assess pricing-related risks and opportunities to support growth, acquisition, and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal governance standards.
  • Segment customers and develop differentiated pricing strategies to meet specific segment needs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, marketing, finance, operations, banking, and scheme teams.
  • Communicate pricing strategies and changes clearly to internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Lead and mentor a team of pricing analysts and professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Manage the pricing function’s budget and ensure efficient resource allocation
     

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, or a related field, or experience in lieu of degree required; Master’s degree preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in related field or industry, including at least 4 years in pricing—preferably with leadership experience managing a pricing team.
  • Prior experience in the payments industry is highly desirable, especially in card acquiring and SMB-focused merchant pricing.
  • Strong understanding of card acquiring and payment processing, including interchange and scheme fee structures.
  • Demonstrated success in leadership roles such as Pricing Manager or Director of Pricing.
  • Advanced analytical skills with a proven ability to build complex financial models to assess pricing impacts.
  • Proficiency in customer research methodologies, including surveys and interviews, to validate segmentation, pricing models, and value metrics.
  • Strong adaptability and a proactive approach to staying current with industry trends and pricing best practices.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (for financial modeling) and PowerPoint (for executive presentations).
  • Familiarity with tools such as VBA, Access, Salesforce, Tableau, or SQL is a plus.
  • Ability to distill large datasets into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, global, and cross-functional environment.
