Overview:

We are seeking a strategic and commercially minded Director of Data Products & Data Licensing to lead the development, commercialization, and growth of data-driven products and licensing partnerships across the organization. This leader will sit within the Product Management organization and be responsible for transforming proprietary data assets into scalable products, insights, and monetization opportunities.

The role will focus on identifying high-value market opportunities, defining data product strategy, building licensing and partnership models, and working cross-functionally to bring differentiated data solutions to market. This individual will create innovative offerings that drive revenue growth, customer value, and strategic differentiation.

This is a highly strategic role requiring strong product management discipline, commercial acumen, data fluency, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and operational environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the strategy and roadmap for data products, data services, and data licensing initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to monetize proprietary data assets through insights, benchmarking, APIs, analytics products, and strategic licensing agreements.
  • Develop business cases, TAM analysis, pricing strategies, and commercialization plans for new data-driven offerings.
  • Lead the lifecycle of data products from ideation through launch, scaling, and optimization.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align data product strategy with broader company growth objectives.
  • Structure and support strategic data licensing partnerships, including value-based and revenue-sharing commercial models.
  • Define scalable operating models for external data distribution, governance, entitlement management, and commercial reporting.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends in data monetization, analytics, AI, benchmarking, and industry intelligence solutions.
  • Engage directly with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to validate opportunities and shape product direction.
  • Translate complex data capabilities into customer-facing value propositions and market-ready solutions.
  • Ensure all data products and licensing activities align with applicable privacy, compliance, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to establish governance frameworks for data usage, commercialization, and distribution.
  • Support privacy impact assessments, contractual reviews, and data entitlement controls.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or educational equivalent; or relevant experience in lieu of a degree, required.
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management, Data Products, Analytics, Data Licensing, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing strategic product initiatives and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience building or commercializing data products, analytics solutions, APIs, benchmarking services, or data licensing programs.
  • Strong understanding of product management disciplines, commercialization frameworks, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Experience developing business cases, revenue models, pricing strategies, and product roadmaps.
  • Ability to operate effectively in highly cross-functional and matrixed environments.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within payments, fintech, financial services, gaming, digital commerce, or data-intensive industries preferred.
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy regulations, and risk considerations related to data monetization.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-driven products, data marketplaces, or intelligence platforms preferred.
  • Experience working with large transactional datasets and customer behavior analytics.
