Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to serve as the Chief of Staff to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) while also leading our Agile practice. In this dual role, you will work closely with the CTO to provide operational structure and strategic support while spearheading the Agile transformation across our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology leadership, project management, and Agile methodologies.

 

Key Responsibilities/Chief of Staff Duties:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the CTO and various departments within the organization
  • Manage a broad portfolio of operational initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness across cross-functional teams
  • Facilitate strategic planning processes and assist in articulating and communicating key goals
  • Lead and execute special and strategic projects in collaboration with the CTO
  • Act as a sounding board for discussions around problems, opportunities, and potential decisions
  • Proactively identify and solve organizational problems to ensure smooth operations
  • Attend executive meetings, keeping a pulse on the business and ensuring alignment across different departments
  • Manage the planning process across the technology team, including quarterly reporting on objectives and results
  • Stay abreast of external developments in technology and provide insights to the CTO and executive team

 

Agile Practice Leadership

  • Lead the Agile transformation across the organization, driving adoption of Agile methodologies and best practices, including SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
  • Develop and implement Agile frameworks, processes, and tools, leveraging SAFe principles to improve project delivery and team performance
  • Provide coaching and guidance to teams and stakeholders on Agile and SAFe practices, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of Agile and SAFe practices, driving continuous improvement and accountability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency in Agile and SAFe implementation, fostering collaboration and transparency
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, promoting Agile and SAFe values and mindset throughout the organization
  • Partner with HR and training teams to develop Agile and SAFe training programs and resources for employees, supporting professional development and growth
  • Act as a change agent, driving cultural transformation and organizational change through Agile and SAFe adoption

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in technology leadership, with a focus on Agile and SAFe methodologies
  • Proven experience in Agile and SAFe transformation, with a track record of successful implementation and adoption
  • Extensive experience running PMOs (Program Management Offices) and leading program management and project management functions
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile and SAFe principles, frameworks, and practices, with relevant certifications such as SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) preferred
  • Very organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills, able to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to bring people together, foster collaboration, and build high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and develop practical solutions
  • Results-oriented with a focus on driving outcomes and achieving business objectives
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements
