As a result of an internal promotion we have an opportunity available for a Senior Legal & Regulatory Counsel to provide regulatory support to the Paysafe business globally (excluding North America). In this role you will be working closely and collaboratively with the business and business-facing legal teams to advise the business on applicable emoney and payment services regulation and regulatory guidance.


This role can be based in either our office in Dublin or in London and you will have the flexibility to split your time between the office and remote working on a flexible basis.



Job Description:


  • Provide legal and regulatory advice to Paysafe’s European & UK business units
  • Manage legal and regulatory projects
  • Support and advise business and product teams on applicable legal and regulatory requirements
  • Advise Paysafe’s businesses on the legal aspects of new product development and delivery channels
  • Lead the development of internal policies and procedures to ensure Paysafe continues to meet its regulatory obligations
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments applicable to Paysafe’s businesses and lead change management processes related to those developments
  • Advise regarding Paysafe’s internal and external outsourcing arrangements
  • Identify and manage regulatory risk
  • Represent Paysafe in engagement with its regulators and other key stakeholders
  • Instruct and manage external legal counsel
  • Assist with know-how, professional development and knowledge management within Paysafe’s Legal & Regulatory team



Key Capabilities/Knowledge/Competencies:


  • Irish or UK qualified lawyer with 5+ years' PQE
  • Financial regulation experience gained in a financial institution, regulator or financial services department of a major law firm with experience interacting with the CBI
  • Payments industry and team management experience preferred
  • Team player with high self motivation and positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues to multi-disciplinary teams
