We’re looking for a U.S.-based Corporate Communications Director, Americas region.  As a key member of the global corporate communications team, the ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with demonstrated leadership experience in communications and bilingual in English and Spanish. You will have a track-record of developing and executing external communications campaigns across multiple channels as well as experience of tailoring and developing internal communications for diverse audiences.   

This role is both diverse and challenging and comes on the back of recent acquisitions in Latin America, driving the need to increase communications resources across the Americas as the business grows.  The job holder will have the remit of developing and implementing a communications strategy to significantly raise awareness of Paysafe in the media and across other public channels. 

The role also includes an important internal communications focus – from developing strategic internal communications for U.S. employees to managing virtual webinars and in-person events.

This role will be based in the US, preferably in Houston (The Woodlands), TX or Atlanta, GA.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Americas Comms Team of two direct reports; collaborating closely with the global communications team
  • Lead on the development and execution of the external communications strategy and program for Paysafe Americas (North America and Latin America).  This is a hands on role and as part of this, you will nurture strong media relationships; draft and edit external communications, including media commentary, bylined articles and blogs, press releases social media content, and award nominations; manage media briefings, interviews, and press conferences involving spokespeople in the Americas; manage speaking engagements at industry events from a communications perspective (research, content, briefing, media engagements); manage incumbent PR agency
  • Lead on the development and execution of the internal communications program for Paysafe Americas to ensure employees are highly engaged and aware of our strategy.  Working closely with the global internal comms team, deliver regional employee comms activities including strategic emails and newsletters; events and other engagement activities, deploying the internal comms tools that are used at Paysafe
  • Evaluate and report on the impact of the Americas external and internal communications activities
  • Act as an integral member of the crisis management team and support in the handling of sensitive issues
  • Requirements
  • Based in the vicinity of Houston (The Woodlands), Texas or Atlanta, Georgia. We will also consider applications from candidates based near one of our other U.S. offices: Irvine or Westlake Village, California; Clearwater or Miami, Florida.      
  • Demonstrated ability developing, implementing, and managing external communications strategies across multiple channels
  • Expert understanding of the mechanics of external communications, public relations, and the U.S. business media landscape
  • Ability to understand complex payments, financial and technology concepts and communicate these concepts clearly to a business, consumer, and employee audience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experienced in crisis management
  • Impeccable editing and proofing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively to influence and support other leaders and team members outside the Americas communications team  
  • Ability to work flexibly and overtime when needed (role spans multiple time-zones and is integrated into a global communications team based in various European locations)
  • Creative and able to think both independently and strategically
  • Extremely hands on
  • Experience working with platforms supporting external communications (newswires, media databases) and internal communications (mass e-mail and webinar hosting tools) 
  • Fluency in Spanish 
     

Experience/Education

  • Must have a solid professional background in a senior corporate communications role either in-house or at a PR agency, with at least two years’ experience of leading a team
  • Payments background preferred
  • Experience of working in an International environment 
  • Experience of managing PR agencies and in-house comms teams
  • Must have a university/college bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as communications, journalism, marketing, or public relations
  • Experience of leading corporate responsibility programs such as D&I, wellbeing, community work would be advantageous
